Election of Officers
In behalf of the newly elected Officers of the St. Cecilia Filipino Community, we would like to thank those who participated in the electoral process. This year’s attendance during the election is much better than we had during the prior election. The newly elected officers will have a term of 3 years. The officers also decided to extend the service tenure of the Chairpersons of the different committees/ministries with a slight change in the chairmanship of the publication committee, now headed by Chakie De Guzman.
The Board of Directors had their turnover meeting last January 27, 2012.
Sinulog
Kudos to Carlos Letrondo, the Chairperson for this event. He also initiated the printing of a streamer which we used during the procession. The festivities started with a rosary procession that ended at the Church. All Santo Nino statues were placed at the altar and were blessed after the 5:00 PM mass. A potluck reception followed with plenty of food. Fr. Thomas graced the occasion by leading the prayer before meals. The Sinulog dance followed after the sumptuous meal. Thank you to all those who in one way or another, contributed their labor of love, resources and talents to make this celebration a success.

The chanted Liturgy of the Hours every Wednesday from 7:00 to 8:00 PM (except on the 1st Wednesday of the month) is gaining devotees. It is accompanied by organ and led by Steve Ohomanyi. It started with a handful of parishioners but now has regular devotees who find this traditional chanting a beautiful way to adore the Lord in the Blessed Sacrament.
