Pista ni Maria
We are so blessed to open the month of May with the Pista ni Maria celebration in lieu of our traditional “Flores de Mayo”. This event was co-sponsored by Filipino Community of St. Cecilia (FCSC) and the Filipino Family Rosary Group, (FFRG) St. Cecilia Chapter.
The Pista started with the floral offering by our members and their children. With the children and young adults getting involved in most of the FCSC activities gives us a sense of assurance that this young generation will pass on the Filipino tradition and culture. Let us always encourage our young to get involved.
Thanks to Deacon Don who joined us on this festive occasion. The community recitation of the rosary and the novena gave a sense of oneness and unity which we are sure made Mama Mary happy. As a community devoted to the Virgin Mary we should in our own personal way help in the propagation of the holy rosary.
The Marian songs led by our Filipino choir made the celebration complete, thanks to Larry Orque who played the piano for the choir.
Of course the Pista will not be totally complete without the reception after the church ceremonies. There was food to share and fellowship. Our heartfelt thanks to the people who were the first to arrive and the last to leave, the set up and clean up team. Thank you for your servant hearts. Likewise, our thanks to the people that donated the food, to those who helped in preparing a beautiful place at the altar for Mama Mary, as well as the table preparations at the hall. June Event Our Lady of Perpetual Help Fiesta Celebration
The FCSC Board and the members are starting to lay ground works for this celebration. We need all our members to participate, please attend our monthly meetings and get involved. The strength of our community lies in our members and we need people to contribute their time and talents to make our community a vibrant one. Reserve the date - Sunday, June 27th. Our next Board and Membership meetings will be on Sunday May 16th.
