Membership Meeting
Thanks to the efforts of Christina Eggleston and Estela Felix for their e-mail reminders and phone follow ups, our last general membership meeting was very well attended.
Changes in Committee/Chairpersons
The Music committee has been renamed Cultural and Arts Committee and is now headed by Pilita “Let-let” Sayo with her very supportive partner Jun Sayo. Let-let will start the Tuesday dancing lessons that will be held at Zeny Deocampo’s place on Sept. 2, 2009 at 7:30 p.m. Anybody who is interested to share their talent is most welcome. The dance group and choir have been invited to a performance in September. Any honorarium generated by this invitation and performance will be donated to FCSC funds.
Bel Lagman volunteered as Chairperson of the Liturgy Committee; assisting her are Offie Cachola and Chakie de Guzman.
Fund Raising Events
The recycling fund raising headed by Lita Davidson was scheduled last Sunday August 30, 2009. Initial response to this fund raising seem to get a lot of support from the members. In the next issue Lita might be able to give us an update of the proceeds. Join us also for the Oct 2nd bus trip to see The Doctors’ show. The bus will be provided by the studio and pickup will be at St. Cecilia’s parking lot at 11:15 a.m. Lucy and Zeny are coordinating this event. A Fall Dance at the Hall in November is currently being planned.
Upcoming Events
Mama Mary’s Birthday Celebration – September 8th at Modular 3. There will be simple prayer service and a birthday cake ordered by Cora & Fred Torres. Chakie, Lucy and Fe will prepare the worship table and decorations. Simple potluck dishes are welcome. Simbang Gabi – Fred & Cora Torres volunteered to chair. Since this is still in December, logistics will be discussed in the next meeting.
