1st Board Meeting for 2009
The first board meeting was held February 27, 2009. Some of the agenda discussed during the meeting are:
Ø Annual activities of the community: a calendar of events was distributed by Chakie de Guzman, Secretary, to the Officers of the Board.
Ø The turnover of documents from the previous Board: Lucy Harvey, Treasurer, reported that the financial records were completely turned over.
Ø Induction of officers was planned for Wednesday, March 4, 2009 during our monthly Novena to our Mother of Perpetual Help.
Ø The Board discussed different activities to encourage participation and communication among members which will be detailed in the next month’s newsletter.
Ugnayang Pilipino
“Ugnayan” means to connect, to coordinate. Tony Lagman PRO with his wife, Bel, Chairperson for Publication, launched a one-page monthly newsletter called “Ugnayang Pilipino” to better communicate and update members with regards to the activities, events and developments in the community. This newsletter will be distributed every first Wednesday of each month during our Novena to Our Mother of Perpetual Help. The content of the newsletter will also be posted at our blog site. We would like to invite members to contribute any newsworthy articles. However, we do not promise that all articles will be published, since all materials must be approved by the Board and our Pastor Fr. Al Baca.
A million thanks
We would like to thank the outgoing officers, who through their hard work, leadership and dedication, and with the support of our pastor, Fr. Al, the Filipino Community of St. Cecilia was born.
Let us build a vibrant community - get involved!
